Mersea - Foul Sewage Proposals

Please listen and ring about your concerns 01473 212121
in the North Fringe latest proposals for Foul sewage and attendant road disruption

SOCS  have just heard that the CREST development may be on Planning Committee agenda published Tuesday 31st  to go to Committee on February 8th 2017!

It seems public concerns have not been addressed
Mersea it seems intend to store and pump into the exiting sewerage system which we believe to be a "combined" surface water and sewage system to Cliff Quay.

But does this comply with the EU Legislation and Directive and Haven Gateway Water Cycle 2 requirements?

Severe disruption including congestion and resultant standing traffic and air pollution due to Utility Companies required works for both Mersea and possibly CREST development build out at the same time.
There has been no adequate evaluation of these "compound,  in combination, cumulative risks" of this scenario shown within the two applications for Mersea and CREST.

SOCS do not support “Multi start” development of multiple sites on the IGS due in part to this inevitable disruption.
 See recent EADT reports;

Calls have been made for tougher sanctions by Suffolk County Council on utility firms that overrun on roadworks, after multi-million pound firms were being fined just hundreds of pounds for behind-schedule work.”

Ipswich delays caused by pair of planned National Grid works in Wherstead Road/Handford Road

Motorists in Ipswich were plagued by traffic delays today after it emerged that two sets of planned roadworks by National Grid on two of the town’s busiest roads were scheduled at the same time.

Motorists have been struck by travel chaos around the west of Ipswich today.

IP14/00638/OUTFL- For the Ipswich Garden Suburb

Mersea's 2014 Application  for 800 houses

IP14/00638/OUTFL was "amended" on 08.12.2016

The amendments require you to comment again!

A response form is available here for all residents as it appears a significant number of the (over 800) respondees who previously commented in 2014, have not received the updated information during December 2016.

Let your local Ward Councillors know your concerns as well.

The issues are essentially much the same as in 2014, but you should respond again as this is due to go to the IBC planning committee in March.
